Discovery Camp is intended to be more recreationally focused and will include structured group and individual activities such as board games, traditional arts and crafts, etc. At the pool and at the center there will be periods of supervised “free play”. We encourage campers to make the most of this time to explore their interests and share with their camp friends. Many campers choose to bring books, cards of all types and of course electronics such as cell phones, iPods, DSI’s etc. We are okay with it as long as the camper is responsible for keeping track of their property and it does not become a distraction. Please contact us if you have any questions.
The Sun and heat are a constant challenge when trying to make the most of our Texas summers. In order to stay safe in the sun we encourage the proper use of sunscreen and will ask that all campers apply sunscreen before we leave for the pool (or any other outdoor activity) and to re-apply at 3 pm during Adult Swim /snack time. Campers will also be encouraged to rest in the shade and to stay hydrated. Water will be available at all times.
Each day, we will provide an afternoon snack and drinks for campers; however, if your camper has specific food allergies/ special dietary needs, please send them with a snack from home and inform Elm Fork Staff.
