Girl Scouts
Elm Fork Education Center would like to invite the Girl Scouts of America to our Family STEM Workshops for opportunities to have fun learning and using science/technology/engineering/mathematics skills to earn badges and try-its!
Family STEM Workshops are designed for your entire family or group to learn through exciting hands-on activities based in science/technology/engineering/mathematics areas of study. Each workshop is themed and incorporates resources found on the campus of the University of North Texas and within the DFW metroplex area. All workshops include associated activities, demonstrations, and a snack.
Cost varies for these workshops. See the specific workshop announcement below for details. Facilities to store and eat sack lunches are available for troop use.

Discover Our Ancient World
In honor of National Fossil Day, join paleontologists and geologists in a celebration of the past…LONG past! Participate in activities about ancient animals and plants, dinosaurs, and fossils. Bring along your favorite fossil for show or identification. Dig up a new fossil or two. Pre-registration is recommended at ElmFork@unt.edu .

Mapping Your World
Finding your way around can be easy, if your map is good. Discover how maps are made, make your own maps, use electronic maps, and find your own treasures. Bring along some SWAPs to include in your troop cache/letterbox. Pre-registration is recommended at ElmFork@unt.edu .
Age Level: Junior and Brownie Girl Scouts
Badges: Junior – Geocacher, Brownie – Letterboxer
Cost: $5 per scout ($1 discount with canned food donation). Leaders/chaparones are FREE.
