Outdoor Learning Area (ODELA)

Elm Fork Education Center's Outdoor Environmental Learning Area (ODELA) is a 7,000 square foot aquatic, geological, and archaeological classroom designed for hands-on exploration by students of all ages.  ODELA is a unique learning environment where students can:

  • Develop archaeological and paleontological skills while searching for cultural remains or fossils in the Excavation Dig Site.
  • Explore the intricate aspects of water as it begins its journey at the Waterfall, continues through the river,  and empties into the pond.

ODELA is open to the public from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays during the months of September through May and by appointment June through August.
