2023-24 Home School Science Labs: EARTH & AQUATIC SCIENCE

REGISTRATION FOR 2023-24 IS CLOSED

Fall home school lab sessions will begin Wednesday, September 6, 2023, and will continue each Wednesday through December 6 (no lab sessions on November 22 due to Thanksgiving holiday).
Spring home school lab sessions will begin again on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, and will continue each Wednesday through May 8 (no lab sessions on March 13 due to UNT spring break).
Lab hours are from 2:00 until 4:00 PM each Wednesday.

Registrations will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. To request a spot in the labs, please submit a completed registration form. Tuition will be due starting week 2 of labs.

MS Lab & HS Lab: EARTH SCIENCE & TEXAS AQUATIC SCIENCE

The home school MS/HS Labs are a series of lab and field sessions for students ages 12 to 17 desiring secondary level lab-based experiences. (MS Lab ages 12-14, HS Lab ages 14-17). The labs are considered the practical application of the basic concepts of middle school or high school study of science.
Labs will concentrate on topics in earth and aquatic science that would include the Earth's surface, rocks and minerals, plate tectonics, weathering and erosion, Earth's history, Earth/Moon/Sun system, solar system, weather and climate, water, Texas aquatic ecosystems, etc.
There will be required weekly prelab reading and activities sent via email that will prepare and enhance understanding of the lab material and activities. It will be understood when a student arrives at lab that these will have been completed by the student and that they will be ready for lab session discussion and activities.

Fee for MS/HS Lab is $140 per student per semester, or $260 per student for both semesters if purchased together.

ES Lab: ELEMENTARY EARTH SCIENCE & AQUATIC SCIENCE

The home school ES Lab is a series of lab and field sessions for students ages 8 to 12 desiring nature-based science experiences. The labs are considered the practical application of the basic concepts of an upper-elementary or lower-middle school study of science.
ES Lab will concentrate on topics in elementary earth science to include Earth's surface, forces on the Earth, our rocky Earth, digging into the soil, Earth's history, Earth/Moon/Sun system, solar system, weather and climate, water on Earth, weather and climate, etc.
There will be short prelab readings and activities sent via email that will prepare and enhance lab experiences. Parents are encouraged and welcome to participate with their students.

Fee for ES Lab is $120 per student per semester, or $220 per student for both semesters if purchased together.

Elementary (ES) ages 8-11 $120/semester or $220/year
Middle (MS) ages 12-13 $140/semester or $260/year
High (HS) ages 14-18 $140/semester or $260/year

Maximum number of students in each lab is 15 for ES, and 15 combined in MS and HS.
