2025-26 Home School Science Labs: Life Science and Biology

*** REGISTRATION FOR 2025/26 HOMESCHOOL LABS WILL OPEN AT 8:00 AM, JULY 1, 2025***

Fall home school lab sessions will begin Wednesday, September 3, 2025, and will continue each Wednesday through December 3 (no lab sessions on November 26).

Spring home school lab sessions will resume on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, and will continue each Wednesday through May 6 (no lab sessions on March 11).

Lab hours are from 2:30 until 4:30 PM each Wednesday.

Registration will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. To request a spot in the labs, please submit a completed registration form (link at the bottom of this page). Tuition will be due starting week 2 of labs.

Students 12 years of age could attend the lab level that is most appropriate to their needs (both academic and social) and most students interested in science study once reaching age 16 are better served through a dual credit science program at the local junior or community college. If you have any questions about these parameters, or about dual credit study, feel free to ask.

Secondary (S) Lab: General Biology

The home school Secondary Lab is a series of home, lab, and field sessions for students ages 12 to 16 desiring secondary level lab-based experiences. The labs are considered the practical application of the basic concepts of middle school or high school study of science.

Labs will concentrate on topics in general biology to include chemistry of the cell, matter and energy in the cell, genetics, evolution and natural selection, viruses and kingdoms of life, and ecology.

There will be required weekly prelab reading and activities sent via email that will prepare and enhance understanding of the lab material and activities. It will be understood when a student arrives at lab that these will have been completed by the student and that they will be ready for lab session discussion and activities.

Fee for Secondary Lab is $150 per student per semester, or $280 per student for both semesters if purchased together.

Elementary (E) Lab: Elementary Life Science

The home school Elementary Lab is a series of home, lab, and field sessions for students ages 8 to 12 desiring elementary science experiences. The labs are considered the practical application of the basic concepts of an upper-elementary or lower-middle school study of science.

Elementary Lab will concentrate on topics in elementary life science to include basic needs and resources, biomes, life cycles, classification, food webs, senses and body organs, cells, health and nutrition.

There will be short prelab readings and activities sent via email that will prepare and enhance lab experiences. Parents are encouraged to participate with their students both at home and in lab.

Fee for Elementary Lab is $130 per student per semester, or $240 per student for both semesters if purchased together.

Elementary (E) ages 8-12  $130  $240
Secondary (S) ages 12-16  $150  $280

Maximum number of students in each lab is 15 for Elementary, and 15 for Secondary.
